Velvet Hair Lounge is a boutique salon in the heart of downtown Longmont.

Velvet Hair Lounge is a collective of independent stylists who are passionate about great hair and creating a welcoming, laid-back environment. We believe the best hair comes from truly listening—understanding your lifestyle, preferences, and hair goals to create a look that feels effortless and personal to you.

Our space is designed with you in mind. With just three chairs, it’s intimate, inviting, and never overwhelming. From the moment you walk in, we want you to feel at home—your appointment should be more than just great hair; it should be a chance to relax and enjoy the process. Whether you want hair that is bold and vibrant or low-maintenance and lived-in, we’ll work with you to create a style that fits seamlessly into your life.

At Velvet, everyone is welcome, and we take pride in making our salon a place where you feel heard, cared for, and completely at ease.

At Velvet Hair Lounge, we care about you, our stylists, and the planet. That’s why we’re committed to using only the best naturally derived, responsibly packaged hair products we can find.

We partner with brands that share our commitment to mother nature and transparency. Each product we use is selected intentionally, with careful attention to ingredients, performance and brand values.

Sustainability plays an important role in our decision making. We prioritize packaging made from glass, metal, and post-consumer recycled materials. We actively seek out refill and low-waste options whenever possible.

Looking good and feeling good shouldn’t come at the environment’s expense — and we believe you can have both.

Helpful information

  • We understand, plans change!

    If you cannot make your appointment, please give us as much notice as you can. To protect our stylists' time, we must strictly enforce our policy.

    Any appointments canceled within 24 hours will be charged 50% of the appointment cost. Any no-shows will be charged 100% of the appointment cost.

  • We strive to make you feel confident and beautiful with your hair. Sometimes, an adjustment might be necessary. If you need any changes, please reach out to your stylist directly within 10 days. We do not offer refunds on services performed but will work hard to make sure you love your hair.

  • All goods are final sale, with the exception of unopened, unused, damaged, or defective items.

  • No worries! Life happens, just call or text us to let us know so we can plan accordingly.

    Appointments 15 minutes behind or more may be subject to reschedule and be charged the no-show fee.

  • There is free 2 hour parking on all roads surrounding the salon along with a free parking garage on Coffman st one block west of the salon. For longer appointments, park on side streets farther away from Main st.

  • We do not tolerate racism, bigotry, misogyny, aggression, hate, violence, discrimination, harassment, intimidation, inappropriate language, sexual harassment, substance abuse, or disrespectful behavior. Our goal is to ensure that everyone—clients and staff alike—feels safe, valued, and respected at all times.
